Online Counselling

I specialise in the areas of depression and anxiety, grief and loss, and trauma and abuse.

Sometimes our thoughts and feelings can overwhelm and trap us to the point where it becomes difficult to cope with everyday life.

I consider the main focus of my work is to help people reach their potential wherever they are in life, whether struggling through tough times or simply looking for direction.

I provide a safe space for people to share their concerns and challenges that life has thrown them, and find new ways of moving forward.

About me

Before I studied to become a counsellor and opened my counselling practice, I worked as a librarian, actor, television presenter, teacher of English as a second language and Business communication tutor.

I am married with adult children and grandchildren. In my spare time I enjoy walking in nature, reading, yoga, and having fun with my grandchildren and the family’s dogs. I also love travelling to new places to experience different cultures.

I’m a full member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors – MNZAC

You can expect me to provide you with a professional, confidential and compassionate counselling service.

In my daily counselling work I support you to govern your own life. I am used to working with a wide range of cultures and worldviews, which is an aspect of my work that I particularly enjoy.

Counselling approaches

I value each person’s uniqueness, and use a variety of counselling approaches tailored for your specific needs, such as:

Counselling & therapy

✓ Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT)

✓ Brain Working RecursiveTherapy

✓ Transactional Analysis

I have trained in Mindfulness, a valuable practice which allows people to not be controlled by their thoughts and feelings.

✓ Physical abuse.

I don't work anymore with ACC sensitive claims.
I can still support you with the topics above, but the counselling is unfunded.
