Online Counselling & Psychotherapy
As an integrative therapist, I draw on my background and education in relational counselling, social work, peer support work, coaching, and psychotherapy, to meet you where you are. I believe that no one approach, or modality is right for everyone, and ultimately you are the expert on your own life. My intention is to be with you on your journey, our therapeutic relationship facilitating possibility and change.
I have seen in my work the power of a space where people are listened to in a deep way, something that can be hard to find in our modern lives. Often people come to therapy and counselling wanting to change aspects of their lives. I have found that compassion and understanding towards the present and the past provides a strong grounding for growth and creating a connected life that works for you.
My work has given me the privilege of working with a wide range of people with differing backgrounds and circumstances with whatever brings them to therapy: low mood, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, repeating patterns, grief, and addictions. Sometimes people don’t know what brings them to therapy. They might not feel right, and have a need for clarity – therapy is often a great place for addressing this.
I have interests in dream-work, career and life transitions, the search for meaning in work and life (and meaninglessness and meaning making in general), spirituality, creativity, and art. I am training as a Hakomi therapist – a body-mind modality and integrate the Hakomi method into my practice. I have experiences with mediation, yoga, and other modalities as approaches for treating trauma and uncovering potential.
I am fully supervised by an experienced and registered NZAP ACP Supervisor, and I am working towards registration. I adhere to The Code of Health and Disability Services Consumers' Rights, and the ethics of the International Hakomi Institute (based in Denver, Colorado, USA) and NZAP.
If you want to know more or make an appointment, feel free to contact me.
