Glenda | Counsellor & Mindfulness Therapist
Introduction
Hi, I'm Glenda and I have been a therapist/counsellor for nearly two decades now. I am also a Master Trainer of coaches and mindfulness teachers having taught across Australasia for 16 years - the skills of emotional regulation and effective communication. I use mindfulness based modalities such as ACT and CFT of which I have trained under the founders of these theories in the UK and Australia.
My Health Science Psychology also means I include positive psychology (the strength of strength based interventions) and theories by Gottman and Attachment Theory. My further trainings are by NICABM (trauma assistance) and Relational Life Therapy - these mean I engage in helping people work alongside trauma experiences with a skilful approach to compassionate healing.
I am a member of NZAC and focus on offering skills for regulating emotions and working towards healing/thriving. I have been instrumental in the mindfulness modalities for therapy and emotional regulation across Australasia since the mid 2000s. Improving relationship (even that which you have with yourself) is the path to thriving. My motto is: the past informed the present, but the NOW creates the future. There is no time like now to step up and grow your relationship wellbeing.
I fully believe that given skills of attending, attunning and awareness, to our needs and those of others, everyone gains from deepening acceptance and gaining clarity. I am open to a 15minutes discussion about your needs should you feel that would help you see if we are a good fit for the work ahead. Kindly G🌸

Specialisations and Expertises
I am known for my work within the gifted, ADHD, and spectrum communities. I have supported many clients with their reveals within Adult ADHD diagnosis, helping them learn tools and acceptancce of their new understanding. I find Attachment Therapy help couples at this point of the journey. I enjoy offering the new roadmap for couples who are coming to grips with the diagnosis.
I also have a great deal of experience with people who have discovered themselves dealing with a naracisstic partner. I am trained in RLT which a model that specifically helps couples at the cusp of divorce - this can mean a lot of trauma work, and I am skilled with NICABM trauma training for this.
I'm very interested in the power of creativity and 'flow' state - I am an arts major in my former life and have a great deal of good outcomes by encouraging positive psychology tools via these strengths.
I have trained in mindful therapies for eating, sleeping, parenting, ADHD, and depression. I bring all these tools to every session I have with clients.
