Online Counselling NZ
My name is Emma.
My counselling approach is down to earth, initially inspired by my own mixed experiences when seeking support. I offer sensitive listening and non-judgemental, thoughtful, creative response. I am most interested in what being well means to you and how I can assist you to live in that space.
From time to time everyone finds themselves in difficult transitions, unexpected situations, facing illness or grief, feeling stuck, being overwhelmed by thoughts or emotions, or in unhelpful behavioural patterns.
Being accompanied through challenging times can make all the difference. My individual counselling sessions offer a safe and confidential space for you to explore your experiences. Together we set about coping with challenges, fostering healing and maintaining wellness.
People working with me bring a wide range of concerns including (but not limited to); life transitions, trauma, anxiety, depression, sexual abuse, domestic violence, existential crises, grief, chronic health issues etc. I assist people toward other forms of support if I feel I'm not suitable or sufficient.

I also work with older teenagers online but not those under 15 years of age (unless an adult accompanies them online). I am comfortable working with neurodivergence.
I take a broadly humanistic approach and draw from models such as Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion-focused therapy, Non-violent communication, Solution-focused therapy and Somatic therapy.

- Post graduate Diploma in MindBody Therapy.
- Postgraduate diploma in Counselling.
- (Currently completeing Masters in Counselling)
- NZAC registered
- 10 years experience in mental health support.
