Hi, I'm Valda
Sometimes life gets messy. In me you’ll find a welcoming, supportive place to work through the situation you are facing, a chance to restore the things that you value or uncover new strengths.
As a counsellor in Taupo, I enjoy coming alongside of my clients, whether they are adults or teens and supporting them to grow through the changes or challenges they experience.
My training in Narrative Therapy and Person-Centred Therapy combine to work at your pace, to help you explore the situation, look at the different perspectives and work towards a solution that sits comfortably with who you are and your experience of life.
If you’re not ready to put it into words, sometimes the Sandtray gives a easier way to explore your situation, or sometimes just having the tools mindfulness gives to let you be present, escape to now, and find rest, allows space to find a way forward.
Even where they are messy, family connections, and the friends become family, as part of your support base are also important. I appreciate the recent emphasis in attachment and the role the relationships around us may contribute to the mess, and often to the healing.
In response to Covoid 19 I am implementing video conferencing sessions via Zoom, a link for your scheduled appontimet will be forwarded to you when you book your session.
I am a Provisional Member of NZCCA, and Registered Provisional Member with NZAC.
