Kia Orana and Hello!

My name is Elizabeth Putaura. I was born in Rarotonga and raised in New Zealand. I live in Nelson where I also received my BA in Counselling.

I am a member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors and am an ACC registered counsellor/provider for integrated service for sensitive claims.

I have worked as a counsellor for 3 years at a Womens Centre, a couple years as a counsellor at the Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology, and a mentor for a budget service before I opened my private practice online in 2023.

I have worked with a variety of issues. I have assisted clients with anxiety, depression, grief, domestic violence, sexual abuse, personality disorders, trauma, identity, relationships, stress, to name a few.

I have worked with varying ages from 16 to 79. I have also had the privilege to work with clients from all over the world an all-around New Zealand.

My work is client centered, trauma informed, and is influenced by Solution Focused Brief Therapy and Narrative Therapy. Working with these strength-based models, collaboratively we can unpack your story, explore your experiences/themes, challenge your predictions, support ways to mitigate the effects and encourage a course of action to positively impact your future through healing conversation.
