Cashmen (Clarence) | Counsellor (Individuals, Couples, Families) and Supervisor

Introduction

No Matter Where You Are in Your Journey, You Belong Here.

Your struggles are real, and you don’t have to carry them alone. By now, you must have realised that trying to overcome them on your own doesn’t work. In fact, carrying that weight in isolation might be part of the problem. Whether you are navigating a difficult life transition, feeling overwhelmed by stress, or processing deep pain, I am here to walk alongside you. Together, we will find a path forward.

About Me

I know how unsettling it can feel to navigate big life changes and face deep personal challenges. My own journey has taken me from South Africa to teaching in New Zealand and spending a year in Saudi Arabia. Living and working across different corners of the world has taught me a profound truth: though our backgrounds may differ, the desire to be truly seen, heard, and valued is universal.

For the past 10 years, I have worked as a pluralistic, systemic counsellor and mental health professional. I have walked with individuals from all walks of life through their darkest and most complex moments. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach because your pain, your history, and your goals are unique to you.

What My "Pluralistic" Approach Means for You

You might wonder what a "pluralistic" approach actually means. Simply put, it means I believe there is no single "right" way to heal. Instead of forcing your unique story into one rigid type of therapy, we work as a team. We will look at your life as a whole system—your relationships, culture, environment, and your innate universal human needs.

From this foundation, we combine different tools that truly resonate with you. You are the expert on your own life, and my role is to listen to your needs and adapt my skills to fit you perfectly.

I completely understand that life can be unpredictable, routines get disrupted, and unexpected things come up. If you need to change your appointment, I kindly ask for at least 24 hours' notice whenever possible.

Because that hour is reserved exclusively for you, late cancellations or missed sessions may incur a fee. Late cancellations (less than 24 hours) require 50% of the fees unless there is a justifiable emergency. However, a minimum of $40 is expected to pay for costs.
However, I always treat these situations with kindness and care, and we can discuss your specific circumstances together. If you are feeling unwell or unable to travel but still feel up to talking, we can always easily switch your in-person session to an online video call.
