Life-coaching Whangarei

I offer in-person counselling for individuals and couples from a cozy boathouse studio in central Whangarei, also worldwide online counselling in English, Swedish and Estonian. My therapy style is solution focused CBT mixed with other styles I find useful in personal growth.

My areas of interest include couples therapy, migration and cultural issues, stress and anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, communication difficulties and self-esteem concerns.

I am a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and can provide both in-person and online counselling.
My in-person sessions are by home visits or at another agreed location.

My practise is multi-cultural and inter-faith. Born in Iran, lived in Jamaica, married to an African and now in New Zealand, my life is an example of crossing boundaries to understand, accept and respect all cultures.

Welcome to my page, you may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or emotionally exhausted inside. Grief, anxiety, trauma, or disconnection may be weighing you down. My clients often long for a space where they don’t have to pretend, where they can simply be themselves and feel fully accepted.

I am a member of NZAC and focus on offering skills for regulating emotions and working towards healing/thriving. I have been instrumental in the mindfulness modalities for therapy and emotional regulation across Australasia since the mid 2000s. Improving relationship (even that which you have with yourself) is the path to thriving. My motto is: the past informed the present, but the NOW creates the future. A key focus and passion is trauma recovery for big T and little t trauma. It may be very recent or from our past. Such trauma as childhood sexual abuse, abandonment, neglect, earthquakes, violence, bullying, car accidents, and warfare.
