My experience includes working with people from their teens, through to later life stages, supporting with issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, relationship struggles, bullying, and identity work.

I am a clinical psychologist with 29 years of experience, originally from South Africa and practicing as a clinical psychologist in New Zealand for the past six years.

As a somatic practitioner, yoga teacher, and student of Hakomi Mindful Somatic Psychotherapy, I offer a compassionate and embodied approach to therapy. I support people navigating challenging life events, patterns, and experiences through relational, body-based work. Integrating Hakomi somatic psychotherapy with somatic parts work, I help you tune into your body's intelligence, befriend all parts of yourself, and find your way back to ease and authenticity.

My name is Cushla and I am a Registered Clinical Psychologist based in Hamilton, New Zealand.

I specialise in working with adults with a wide range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, chronic pain, PTSD, sleep, physical health, grief, and adjustment to life changes.

I am an integrative therapist with 12 years of working experience with adults, children, families, adolescents, ethnic groups, pregnant women (antenatal and postnatal). I offer counselling in English, Tamil and Hindi.

I offer in-person counselling for individuals and couples from a cozy boathouse studio in central Whangarei, also worldwide online counselling in English, Swedish and Estonian. My therapy style is solution focused CBT mixed with other styles I find useful in personal growth.

My areas of interest include couples therapy, migration and cultural issues, stress and anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, communication difficulties and self-esteem concerns.

In life we can all have times that are more challenging and painful than others and counselling can provide a safe space to work through those seasons.
