Anna | Online Counsellor
Online therapy and counselling
I understand the importance of flexibility in our modern times and therefore I focus mainly on online therapy. In this way, anybody can get counselling wherever they are.
Online therapy is also convenient for shift workers and disabled people. I help clients deal with existing problems or explore what is troubling them.
My clients may present with a range of issues such as:
- Mood: anxiety, depression, stress, anger, burnout, motivation
- Relationship issues: conflict, break ups, communication, affairs and sexuality
- Life issues: Insecurity, self esteem, procrastination, feeling stuck, isolation, social phobia
I started a private practice in 2012 as a trauma counsellor whilst working as a play therapist/counsellor at a number of NGOs.
My professional registrations include: Provisional MNZAC, GANZ, ANZMH, ISHMO.
Through online therapy, you could still build a therapeutic relationship with your therapist. You will receive quality counselling and support that can help improve coping and facilitate self-discovery.
Send me a message if you want to improve your mood, relationship or a life issue.

Becoming a mother was the most important event in my life. It was amazing to relive new experiences through the eyes of my child.
I enjoy working with people and I am a listener rather than a talker. That quality set me up to be an empathic counsellor.
I enjoy walking a journey with my clients and experience with them their growth and development. That is really meaningful to me.
Observing the bravery of my clients as they often work through deep-seated problems and trusting me to walk that journey with them.
I like the little things. Have a cup of tea with my partner after a long day and enjoying the sunset.
Here - where I am. I love where I am and what I do.
I enjoy work/life balance. I enjoy tramping in New Zealand and travelling.
I am happy around family and friends and my career.
I have a supportive partner and a lovely son. I am very lucky that I also have a supportive family.
After my sister passed away I felt incredibly low for a long time and decided to go for counselling. Initially, I didn't think it was working, luckily I persisted and I managed to work through my grief. It was life-changing.
I started out in other professions, operations, marketing etc. I decided to become a counsellor and I am very happy about my decision.
I grew up at a time when women did not have many rights. In my mind, my mom was a 'powerful' businesswoman. As a young girl, I wanted to be just like my mom. My dad was the first person to employ a woman in a male-dominated position in the company he worked at. So my mom and dad are my greatest inspiration.

Iris, directed by Richard Eyre. It is a beautiful love story and an accurate depiction of the development of dementia.
You are not your thoughts, used in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). (Hayes)
To be a 'monkey'. A monkey is grounded (connection to the earth) but can reach the top of the trees (reaching dreams) and still be mischievous (having fun).
Be in the moment. You can do that by experiencing sensory information - feel the breeze on your skin, smell the roses and listen to the birds singing.
Don't compare yourself to others and don't believe the 'beautiful perfect lives' others create on social media.
