Margaret Rishworth | Counsellor
Sometimes our thoughts and feelings can overwhelm and trap us to the point where it becomes difficult to cope with everyday life.
I consider the main focus of my work is to help people reach their potential wherever they are in life, whether struggling through tough times or simply looking for direction.
I provide a safe space for people to share their concerns and challenges that life has thrown them, and find new ways of moving forward.
I work mainly with adults and adolescents, where anxiety and depression are common problems, and for ACC sensitive claims (trauma).
Before I studied to become a counsellor and opened my counselling practice, I worked as a librarian, actor, television presenter, teacher of English as a second language and Business communication tutor.
I am married with adult children and grandchildren. In my spare time I enjoy walking in nature, reading, yoga, and having fun with my grandchildren and the family’s dogs. I also love travelling to new places to experience different cultures.
I’m member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors – MNZAC
