Counselling Whangarei

New appointments possible in September 2019.

My name is Ross Osborne. I have had 26 years counselling experience. I’m a member of NZ Association of Counsellors. My practice is based in Whangarei.

I have a passion for seeing people move from “stuck to un-stuck” in the physical, emotional, financial and spiritual areas of their life.

I recognise the value of establishing daily activities to accomplish medium and long-term goals as a means of motivating clients to  live fulfilling and purposeful lives. I enjoy seeing clients achieve success and helping them define what that means for them.

I use a strengths-based approach in my work and I have a special interest in ACT and mindfulness. I find that by addressing "thinking traps" clients are able to move toward being the best version of themselves.

About me & Career Experience

I am a father and grandfather. I’ve been a keen sportsman. I recognize the importance of

good sleep, diet and exercise as providing a sound foundation to good emotional health

I have a background of 33 years in education teaching commerce and social sciences and with 14 of these years as a School Counsellor.

I was actively involved in coaching across a number of sports and find that this coaching mindset influences my current work. I worked briefly in the financial services sector coaching and supporting a sales team.

This experience motivated me to complete post-graduate studies in counselling and move into this field of work.

I am currently working as a counsellor in private practice and have done for 12 years.
